 How to make a complaint at Nook dance centre

If you wish to raise a concern about Nook Dance Centre’s policies, procedures or practices at any time, please follow the steps below.

  1. Contact the studio owner, Tammy McLinden. This can be by phone: 0413 822 840, by email: info@nookdancecentre.com.au or in person: see our timetable for Tammy’s work hours. If you wish to speak to a different member of staff, you can instead speak to Rebekah in person: see our timetable for Rebekah’s work hours.

  2. Tammy or Rebekah will respond to your complaint as soon as possible. If you email/call and you don’t hear from Tammy after 2 work days, please follow up.

  3. If a child or adult is in immediate danger Tammy or Rebekah will call 000

  4. If the concern is in relation to child safety and wellbeing at Nook Dance Centre, Tammy or Rebekah will then offer support to the child, the parents, the person who reports and the accused staff member or volunteer.

  5. Tammy or Rebekah will then Initiate internal processes to ensure the safety of the child, clarify the nature of the complaint and commence disciplinary process (if required).

  6. Tammy or Rebekah will then decide, in accordance with legal requirements and duty of care, whether the matter must be reported to the police or Child Protection and make a report as soon as possible, if required. 

  7. Tammy or Rebekah will follow the guidelines from the Victorian government on reporting child abuse. This information can be found here.
