G4–6 Ballet
Our Grades 4-6 Ballet classes provide a welcoming, friendly environment for our dancers to continue to extend their Ballet technique, skills and artistry. Our Grades 4-6 Ballet classes consist of barre work, centre practise and travelling steps. The focus is on safe skill development as well as exploring self-expression and discovering the joy of movement.
Our Ballet classes are fun and engaging. We work to meet the learning needs and interests of the children in the class. We are always looking for new ways to engage and inspire our young Ballet dancers each week and employ a range of creative approaches to teaching Ballet including use of props, visuals and imagery.
The Grades 4-6 dancers work towards an in-house mid-year showing and an End-of-Year Show at a local theatre.

G4–6 Contemporary Dance & Movement Lab
In our Contemporary Dance & Movement Lab classes, students learn to:
Move efficiently and safely,
•
improve their co-ordination and body awareness and
•
experience the joy of dancing alongside friends!
•
The 'Movement Lab' portion of the class is where creativity is unleashed. Students are given tasks and improvisation scores which will be used to generate movement. Students collaborate with teachers to choreograph original dance works that will be presented at Nook Dance Centre performances throughout the year.
Movement Lab is all about:
Helping our students to find their own unique approach to movement and movement style.
•
Inviting our students to connect with their peers—face to face—as they work together to create movement.
•
Empowering our students by showing them the value of their own creative contributions to Nook projects.
•
Providing a safe space for our students to truly be themselves.
