Classes for Grade 2-3 Students

Contemporary Dance and Movement Lab

In our Contemporary Dance and Movement Lab classes, students learn to move efficiently and safely, improve their co-ordination and body awareness and experience the joy of dancing alongside friends!

Contemporary class is followed by a 'Movement Lab' where the students are invited to unleash their creativity and become dance makers and improvisers. During Movement Lab, students will be given creative tasks and improvisation scores which will be used to generate original movement. Students collaborate with teachers/choreographers to create dance works to be presented at Nook Dance Centre performances during the year.

Grade 2-3 Ballet

Our Grade 2-3 Ballet classes provide a welcoming, friendly environment for the dancers to continue to extend their ballet technique and skills. In this level we introduce barre work for the first time as well as centre practice. The focus is on safe skill development as well as self expression and enjoyment. The Grade 2-3 dancers will work towards a mid-year showing and an End-of-Year Show.
